This is so much better than a postcard! A friend of mine has been travelling around Russia and Georgia, and he came across an old lady in a small village, crocheting hats. Earlier this week I checked the mail box to find a small parcel with my name on it, and inside was a black hat with a red trim, finished with a crochet flower. Two of my favourite colours, and such a thoughtful gift!
It goes to show how important craft skills are in small places, not only for people to make a living but also for enjoyment. Pity summer's coming - it's too warm to wear it right now!

I'm hoping that this is a totally normal symptom of knitting that just does not seem to grow. Half way through sleeve two of the jumper, I got bored. I rolled it away with sleeve one and the front, tucked it into my knitting bag and conveniently forgot about it for over two months.
I rediscovered it today, after glancing at the knitting bag every so often, after being overcome with guilt. Maybe I give up on things too easily, or maybe I just go through seasons with my interests. I've knitted about an inch more now, and maybe over this long weekend the sleeve will be finished.
